The Condemned Orillia Building, Robson & Seymour, 1985 (Unlimited)

Sale price $26.95 Regular price $36.95

The Orillia was Vancouver's first "mixed use" apartment development, built in 1903 by Parr & Fee, the same firm that designed the Manhattan Apartments, further up the street.

As can be seen by the entreaty scrawled on the wall, many Vancouver citizens were appalled to see this grand old building demolished rather than restored. The bulldozers moved in just months after I made this photograph, on a wet and wintry day.

Delivered prints do not include watermark seen here.
